Does website chat cost extra?
No. AI website chat, the hosted chat link, and the QR code are included on every plan. There are no per-chat fees, and chats are not counted as SMS.
How are SMS messages and AI voice minutes counted?
An SMS message is one outbound text PepperSend sends to a caller. An AI voice minute is one minute of AI-handled voice conversation, billed in fractional increments. A typical missed-call follow-up uses 4 to 6 SMS messages. A typical AI voice answer is 2 to 3 minutes.
What is the difference between Pay-as-you-go and Inferno?
Pay-as-you-go (Mild) is $15 per month plus $0.03 per SMS message and $0.40 per AI voice minute, a good fit for seasonal businesses or changing call volume. Inferno is $249 per month and includes 1,000 SMS messages and 600 AI voice minutes, plus multi-location support, white-label co-branding, and a dedicated account manager. Website chat is included on both.
What happens if I go over my monthly included usage?
On Inferno, overages are billed at $0.03 per SMS message and $0.40 per AI voice minute. You will never lose a caller mid-conversation. On Pay-as-you-go there is no included bundle, just the $15 platform fee plus usage.
Do I need to change my phone number?
No. Website chat needs no phone number at all. For missed-call text-back, PepperSend works with any phone provider or cell carrier that supports call forwarding. Forward your unanswered and busy calls to your PepperSend number. Callers hear a short notice, then get a text from your PepperSend number. You keep your number and your provider. Setup takes under 5 minutes.
Is there a one-time setup fee?
No. There is no setup fee. You pay $15/mo plus usage on Pay-as-you-go, or $249/mo on Inferno. The only one-time charge is the optional $2,000 custom CRM integration.
Is there a trial period?
Yes. Your first month on the $15 plan is 90% off, so $1.50. After that it is $15/mo plus usage.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. All plans are month-to-month with no contracts. Cancel anytime from your dashboard and you will not be charged again. Your service continues until the end of the billing period.
What is the difference between PepperSend and a basic missed call text back tool?
Basic tools send one pre-written message when a call is missed and stop there. PepperSend uses AI trained on your specific business to hold a full text conversation. It answers questions about your services, takes appointment requests (and books them if you use Acuity), flags emergencies and alerts your team, collects lead information, and hands off to a human with full context when needed.
